DraftKings has been officially given approval to launch its online sportsbook in PA on November 4th after their license was granted by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board during its monthly meeting on Wednesday.
The DraftKings PA online sportsbook will undergo a test period early in the week, which will be followed by an official launch a few days later should everything go as expected. The opening of DraftKings PA means will mean that the sportsbook will be live in a total of four states, joining New Jersey, West Virginia and Indiana.
DraftKings has partnered with Penn National Gaming to offer its online sportsbook in PA. Penn National owns both the Hollywood Casino and The Meadows. Like many PA sportsbooks, DraftKings will utilize Kambi technology and infrastructure to operate its online sportsbook.

The online sportsbook will join an increasingly expanding market in Pennsylvania that includes PlaySugarHouse, FanDuel, BetRivers, FoxBet and the Parx Online Sportsbook.
But despite the competition in the state and the jump start others have received, DraftKings is expected to shoot towards the top of the list of sportsbooks in PA. In New Jersey, DraftKings — with FoxBet — is the second biggest online sportsbook in the state behind only FanDuel.
DraftKings has an advantage in that many of its potential customers already have accounts through its popular daily fantasy sports site, which continues to be one of the go-to spots to play fantasy sports.
Once DraftKings online sports betting opens up in PA on Monday, users will be able to log-in to the DraftKings Sports Betting app and online sportsbook using their existing DraftKings details.
